About us

Burke is unincorporated. We don’t have a massive group of people hired by the local government to clean up our outdoor spaces. If it’s not co-located with a public building or field, that responsibility typically falls to nearby homeowners, privately hired landscapers, and HOAs.

But some areas fall through the cracks. This is a picture along Shiplett Road, where hundreds of children walk to the nearby White Oaks Elementary.

Burke, we need to do better. It’s up to us to leave a cleaner, safer, and more pristine environment for our fellow citizens, children, and wildlife.
